Welcome to the Muse Academy!“The Muse Academy was founded over 100 years ago,” the tour guide said. He spread his arms out as if he were showing off the entire school. He pushed his glasses back up to the bridge of his nose as they slid down. He turned back to the tour group. “It’s our job to take bright young muses, like yourselves, and prepare them to influence mankind. It’s a big job, and not everyone is up for the task, but by the time you've graduated the Academy, you’ll have already been a muse for at least one human!”Welcome to the Muse Academy! by tumblinteaaa
A few of the muses nodded. A boy to the left yawned. One girl was listening to music. Another girl was texting on her phone. Most were talking, and not very softly. No one was paying attention. Why should they? They'd all heard this speech a million times. It was nothing new. Nothing exciting. TMA wasn't anything more than a school. There are less than two thousand muses in existence. The school accepted everyone. It was just school. Just schoo
My Name is Rachel Dare - Ep. 1“It is a truth, universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune…must be in want of a wife,” Rachel said into the camera. She held up the pink shirt her mom had gotten her. “My mom got both of us these last Christmas. I have yet to wear it…ever.”My Name is Rachel Dare - Ep. 1 by tumblinteaaa
She saw Annabeth holding back laughter behind the camera and glared.
I’ll cut it out, Annabeth mouthed.
It wasn’t funny in that the sense that the words themselves were funny, it was funny because Mrs. Dare seemed to die a little inside each time she saw Rachel wearing a cheap t-shirt. And yet she had gotten Rachel one for Christmas.
“Who am I?” Rachel asked. “I’m a 24 year old grad student with a mountain of student loans, living at home and preparing for a career.”
She didn’t bother mentioning that she only had a mountain of student loans because she refused to let her parent pay them (and they didn’t want to), and also didn

I was almost on the other side of the room, and my leg had a pretty nasty gash in it.
He slapped her across the face and she kicked him in the shin.
I winced. August was going to kill me if he found out about this.
Bell tried to stand, but he kept pushing her down. Her eyes blazed. She reached down to her side for the small gun she always kept as a last resort.
"You little brat," he sneered, "you think you will be able to survive out here. You and your kind? Ha! As if you could–"
She whipped the gun out and shot him in the head.
He stumbled backwards, holding a hand to his head. Holding my breath, I waited for him to drop. He didn't.
He wiped his hand on his gray pants and laughed. "Think a little bullet will stop me?" He blinked and his eyes turned black, the deep black that still gave me nightmares.
He laughed again. "You're hardly in the right place to preform an exorcism." He snatched the gun from her and threw it over his shou

Her hair waved in the breeze, lazy like a butterfly's wings.
She had been so perfect, so young... but time had seemed to steal it from her as if she had jumped and the wind was pulling away all that was making her herself.
She had to hold on to what made up her identity. She had to grasp it tightly before it flew away and left her. She had to keep it before she was less the skin and bones. Before her sickness reached those around her and showed it.
Her cancer was hidden behind her smile like a caged animal. Trapped but reaching out. Black and scaley and dark, all that was not her. The opposite.
She was sitting on the sterilized metal, inhaling the scent that dominated her senses.
She was only seven. It was summer.
She should be out, free and wild and young.
But what had made her beautiful and lively before had gone long ago. She was only an imprint of what she had been in the past with her beautiful yell
