Welcome to the Muse Academy!“The Muse Academy was founded over 100 years ago,” the tour guide said. He spread his arms out as if he were showing off the entire school. He pushed his glasses back up to the bridge of his nose as they slid down. He turned back to the tour group. “It’s our job to take bright young muses, like yourselves, and prepare them to influence mankind. It’s a big job, and not everyone is up for the task, but by the time you've graduated the Academy, you’ll have already been a muse for at least one human!”Welcome to the Muse Academy! by tumblinteaaa
A few of the muses nodded. A boy to the left yawned. One girl was listening to music. Another girl was texting on her phone. Most were talking, and not very softly. No one was paying attention. Why should they? They'd all heard this speech a million times. It was nothing new. Nothing exciting. TMA wasn't anything more than a school. There are less than two thousand muses in existence. The school accepted everyone. It was just school. Just schoo
My Name is Rachel Dare - Ep. 1“It is a truth, universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune…must be in want of a wife,” Rachel said into the camera. She held up the pink shirt her mom had gotten her. “My mom got both of us these last Christmas. I have yet to wear it…ever.”My Name is Rachel Dare - Ep. 1 by tumblinteaaa
She saw Annabeth holding back laughter behind the camera and glared.
I’ll cut it out, Annabeth mouthed.
It wasn’t funny in that the sense that the words themselves were funny, it was funny because Mrs. Dare seemed to die a little inside each time she saw Rachel wearing a cheap t-shirt. And yet she had gotten Rachel one for Christmas.
“Who am I?” Rachel asked. “I’m a 24 year old grad student with a mountain of student loans, living at home and preparing for a career.”
She didn’t bother mentioning that she only had a mountain of student loans because she refused to let her parent pay them (and they didn’t want to), and also didn

I was almost on the other side of the room, and my leg had a pretty nasty gash in it.
He slapped her across the face and she kicked him in the shin.
I winced. August was going to kill me if he found out about this.
Bell tried to stand, but he kept pushing her down. Her eyes blazed. She reached down to her side for the small gun she always kept as a last resort.
"You little brat," he sneered, "you think you will be able to survive out here. You and your kind? Ha! As if you could–"
She whipped the gun out and shot him in the head.
He stumbled backwards, holding a hand to his head. Holding my breath, I waited for him to drop. He didn't.
He wiped his hand on his gray pants and laughed. "Think a little bullet will stop me?" He blinked and his eyes turned black, the deep black that still gave me nightmares.
He laughed again. "You're hardly in the right place to preform an exorcism." He snatched the gun from her and threw it over his shou

Today, you may have seen it or not seen it, but Alie(:iconWhisperwings has passed on. She had terminal cancer so it wasn't a surprise but that doesn't mean it didn't hit people hard.
She was amazing, funny, strong.. everything we are and more.
But why should she be in the past tense? She will never die because she is here- vivid in our minds. Vivid on the screen and alive in her artwork with it's bright colors and skillfulness.
I never talked to her. Not even once and yet I know she is a good person who won't let anything take her down- just by reading her writing.
She's optimistic even when everything's falling and tells everyone not to worry about her. That she's ok.
Some may say she fought the battle and lost.
I say she won.
She died in the end, but don't we all die?
She won because even though she knew the sands of time would carry her away soon she didn't let it change her. Everyday she keeps strong and open. Generous and kind. She knows tha
AlieI'm sorry to have to bear the news today that our darling Alie has passed away peacefully with both parents by her bedside. Her mother posted a message today on Facebook and here on Whisperwings Alie spent her last few days watching the Olympics with her family close by. She was too weak to comment on everyone's lovely messages on various websites, but she was extremely thankful for her friends and watchers support. She left a message for her friends and watchers, which you can read on her blog along with her mother's message.Alie by whisper-gifts
Alie's family have been truly amazing throughout this. They have kept her friends and fans online informed every step of the way and for that I am eternally grateful. They are an incredibly supportive family and an inspiration to all. My heart goes out to them. They do ask that people not send flowers or gifts to their house, but you can feel free to mak

Alie is someone I have considered one of my dearest friends for many years now. She has always been there for me, unfailingly kind and supportive; the Leia to my Han, always around to entertain with her stories and quips, and her downright infectious passion for life and the arts. No one raised my spirits quite like her and I know that many of you here were lucky enough to call her your friend too. She was a special sort of friend, one that comes around rarely, and a shining light in this world. I can't express how much I'm going to miss her or how hard writing
